JAKARTA, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian government trimmed down its deficit assumption in the revised state budget this year to 2.35 percent from the initial rate set at 2.48 percent from national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on the back of potential revenue addition from oil and gas sector, a senior official said here on Monday.

Speaking after a meeting with legislators of budgeting commission at the parliament, Head of Fiscal Policy Section at the Financial Ministry Suahasil Nazara said that the deficit reduction plan has been approved by the parliament.

"Deficit rate must be reduced so as to make government more credible. Government must stay focusing its efforts to address urgent needs and priority needs," Suahasil said here.

The approval on deficit assumption was gained to accommodate input conveyed by a legislator who said that the newly-approved Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) at 40 U.S. Dollars per barrel has the potentiality to add government's revenue in oil and gas sector, adding that that it can minimize the deficit assumption in the state budget.

The proposal to alter the ICP assumption in the revised state budget this year to 40 U.S. Dollars per barrel was issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources ministry (ESDM) who learned that the average ICP rate from January to May stood at 34.50 U.S. Dollars per barrel. The proposal was approved by the parliament recently.

That level was below the state budget assumption this year initially set at 50 U.S. Dollars per barrel.

In its latest economy outlook report, the World Bank estimated that Indonesia's budget deficit rate may expand to 2.8 percent from GDP throughout this year, or higher than 2.6 percent recorded last year.

The deficit increase was due to the increasing of central government's spending up to 90 percent from budget allocation coupled with unperformed tax revenue target this year.

The central bank estimated that Indonesian central government's spending growth would grow 14.9 percent from the GDP this year, while at the same time its revenue would only grow at 12.1 percent.

One of the most common misconceptions about health care in America is that Medicare will pay for everything once you retire. U.S. citizens who reach the age of 65 and are retired are eligible for this national insurance program that was designed to protect everyone by managing risk without regard to profit. That said Mario Edwards Jr Limited Jersey , Medicare cannot possibly pay for everything and remain solvent in the modern era. Why is this?

Changing demographics

The United States has an aging population. According to a new Census Bureau report, the percentage of people aged 65 and over rose from 12.4 to 15 percent from 2000 to 2010. That number is expected to skyrocket as the largest generation in American history (the Baby Boomers) begin to retire en mass in the coming years. By 2030, the percent of retired Americans could be nearly 20 percent of the population, which is easily the highest proportion ever.

Why age matters

Social Security, Medicare, and other widespread social programs are based on demographics. They are funded by working people, and as the number of retirees rises, revenues invariably decline. Few economists believe that Medicare can remain solvent as generational imbalances and rising life expectancy become factors in the coming years. Changes must be made to preserve these vital social systems for future generations. That means cuts, and lots of them!

At present, seniors spend around 3 percent of the annual income on prescription drugs and a few hundred more to buy over-the-counter medicines. In fact, cold and allergy pills and other popular products are not covered by Medicare in most cases. But these are not the primary drivers of health care costs for elderly Americans.

According to a recent study from the National Institute on Aging, people with Medicare coverage paid an average of nearly $40,000 for medical care during the last five years of life. Many of them suffered from chronic conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, which may not be completely covered by Medicare. In particular, assisted living and nursing home expenses must often be paid out-of-pocket.

It is impossible to know for certain what the future holds. Perhaps modern medicine will find cures for the most costly chronic conditions that are plaguing our seniors. Of course, we should always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. One thing we can control is the ability to buy over-the-counter medicine on the internet.

There are dozens of reputable online pharmacies that sell popular medications for less. You might not save a mint, but every little bit helps. A retiree who suffers from seasonal allergies or frequent headaches can save a few dollars a month on antihistamines and aspirin. These virtual pharmacies are also a godsend for seniors who deal with mobility issues and cannot make it to the local drugstore.

What do they sell?

Most offer all of the over-the-counter medicines you would expect to find at a large pharmacy, including eye care, foot care, ear care, and oral care products. They should also carry vitamins and supplements, first aid and personal care items. Shipping discounts for those that buy over-the-counter medicine are quite common. It may even be possible to buy med without a prescription, but that often depends on local laws.
